Samantha Kingsbury

My job was to coordinate the design, flow, guests, vendors, volunteers, food/drink, and all donations in association with The Portland Children's Museum's largest fundraising event. In the end we hosted over 250 guests to a night of food, drinks, performances, and fun that culminated in the donation of over $250,000.00.

As a manager at Abercrombie & Fitch I not only oversaw my store but I also worked closely with all other stores in the area. My job included hiring and managing all employees, both on the floor and in the stock room. As well as helping with asset protection, assisting any and all customers, and making sure that our store and employees represented the highest standards of the Abercrombie & Fitch brand.

As Secretary to the President of George Fox University it was my job to greet all visitors, answer the phones, organize and file all paperwork, as well as any other tasks that needed to be done. I learned the importance of being organized, and how first impressions are integral to the success of future relationships.

As a Pastry Chef it was my responsibility to oversee the production of pastries in the kitchen as well as to plate and garnish the desserts in the front. With no prior experience, I learned on the spot how to move quickly and efficiently within a small team while maintaining superior levels of design and presentation.

As House Staff at a rehabilitation facility for teenagers my job was to oversee the residents health during all non-school hours. This included managing all activities, enforcing rules and disciplines, acting as a counselor, and writing reports on each resident at the end of every day in order to track progress. Working at a rehabilitation facility taught me how to work with and manage all sorts of personalities and problems that can arise not only in a facility like this but also in any workplace.

Being the manager or a small Ice cream shop it was my job to train all new employees, manage all current employees, assist all customers, maintain the correct amount of product, as well as input all cash and receipts from the safe into the computer. Managing a store taught me to oversee employees and lead by example with excellent customer service.
