Über mich
I’m a PhD student, part of the Regensburg International Graduate School of Life Science (RIGEL) and Graduate Research Academy RNA Biology, and my work is funded by the SFB960. I work in the yeast genetics department on the topic “eIF2 function influences RNA polymerase III”. I’m interested in the regulation of translation and transcription rates in response to stress. I am working on shining light on new links of eIF2 dysfunction to TORC1 signalling and RNA polymerase III activity. I study the highly conserved eukaryotic pathways in my model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae. I also volunteer in science communication and teach pupils on various topics of microbiology. I hope that I can share my enthusiasm for yeast and microbes, and science in general, with a lot of young people and maybe can support them with their decision to aim for a scientific career. I want to make a difference and try to spark interest with an interesting and fun approach to science, especially for girls.
