Tommaso Zanella

In 2015 the company started a new path, choosing to enter the growing domestic-tourism industry, both as designers and operators. In this case our group became the leading architectural design team for the company owned hotel brand. Being part of this project since its real beginning, we have been involved in the business development along with the design process, from concept to construction, until the management phases.

During the first years at Vast Design I have been working in the architectural and urban design team. The international environment has been very stimulating, and together we worked proficiently on several projects, delivering often successful design for the government or private clients.

During my time at NITA Design Group I had the chance to share my design ideas with an international team of mostly landscape designers. The company is focusing mainly on landscape design projects both in China and abroad, especially after the successful design of the Huang Pu river park for the Shanghai Expo 2010. Most of the time there, I have been involved on a big scale project in the Chinese city of Changchun, where we were asked to design a series of public buildings.

During my master degree studies, I had the opportunity to work side by side with very talented professionals at the Moshe Safdie Office in Jerusalem. During the time I spent there, I worked as assistant at several architectural design projects and I got the chance to share ideas with colleagues and the directors, learning from their feedback and the daily work discussions.

Being my first encounter with the professional world, this experience has been very meaningful and educational. As assistant for one of the partner, I worked mainly on a small scale renovation of a private attic in Milan. Thanks to this experience I had the chance to get familiar with the design process, the relationship with the client and the project timeline.
