Über mich

I am currently a PhD student in the Lachance Lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology (https://popgen.gatech.edu). My research focus is on the admixture of modern humans with archaic hominins. I approach this from a theoretical perspective as well as an empirical one. Before my work in the lab, I graduated with a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During my Master's, I was a student in the Borodovsky group (http://exon.gatech.edu/GeneMark) and developed an ab-initio algorithm for the annotation of phage genomes with multiple genetic codes.

    - Identified potential drug targets for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) based on a mass spectrometric protein dataset - Classified samples in the dataset using machine learning, i.e., Random Forest Classifier - Performed pathway analysis and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) using DAVID

  • 7 Monate, Aug. 2018 - Feb. 2019

    Bachelor Student

Baumbach Lab, University of Southern Denmark

    - Developed a sophisticated peak detection method for breath gas data (MCC/IMS) based on a deep learning approach, using the tensorflow and keras package in Python. - Benched marked the peak detection method against existing methods, such as PEAX or the watershed algorithm, and showed that it consistently performs better
