Responsible for the evaluation of the influence of NLR genes´ functional variants in colorectal cancer risk, survival, and response to treatment. I also investigated the interplay between the NLR variants and the toll-like receptor (TLR) and interferon (IFN) gene variants to better understand their connection with the development of CRC. Hands on experience in molecular biology lab-skills

The project aimed at the identification of differential gene expression in tissues of healthy and pathological mesothelium. My thesis aimed at identifying the potential role of some genes in the carcinogenesis of MPM through RNA-interference. After the key-genes depletion, it was possible to observe how the malignant cells’ phenotype responded in terms of expression’s levels of transcripts, proliferative capacity, apoptosis, invasiveness capacity, colony formation capacity and, level of senescence.

A routine monitoring and assessment of the microbiological quality of water. The primary analysis looks for indicator organisms rather than the pathogens that might cause concern. Indicator organisms are bacteria such as non-specific coliforms, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa that are very commonly found in the human or animal gut and which, if detected, may suggest the presence of sewage.
