Analyst, Postdoctoral Researcher

As a postdoctoral researcher, I am doing research in the field of Pharmaceutical Biology, i.e. isolation, structural characterization and biological activity of novel natural compounds and plant secondary metabolites.

I worked as a Research Assistant in Laboratory for Investigation of natural resources of Pharmacologically and Biologically Active Compounds, on Department for Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, in the field of Bioanalytics and Pharmacological Analytics, as a researcher on projects: "Development of a novel herbal drug targeting Helicobacter pylori", and "Experimental degradation studies of advanced oxidation processes".

I have worked as a Teaching Assistant on Department for Biochemistry and Natural Product Chemistry (University of Novi Sad), on subjects such as: High performance Liquid Chromatographic and Mass Spectrometric methods in Biochemical Analysis, Gaschromatographic Analysis of Natural Products, Biochemical Food Analysis, Ecological Biochemical Analysis, Biochemical Analysis etc. I supervised more than 10 BSc and MSc students' Theses.

I worked as a guest researcher - Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Gastwissenschaftler) on Chair for Pharmaceutical Biology, on Institute for Pharmacy, Faculty for Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Regensburg, and performed research in the field of new compounds' isolation, as a large experimental part of my doctoral thesis, the project titled: "Isolation, chemical characterization and biological activity of acylphloroglucinols from Hypericum barbatum Jacq."

I worked as a Research trainee in Laboratory for Investigation of natural resources of Pharmacologically and Biologically Active Compounds, on Department for Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, in the field of Plant Extract Analytical Chemistry, as a researcher on projects: "Biologically active natural products as potential sources of new drugs and dietary supplements", and "Biological potential of wild-growing plants from Vojvodina region".

As a Marketing Assistant on Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Sciences (University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences), I have participated as a presenter on Educational fair (2009-2012) and on Science night (2013-2015). I have lead a 12-member team and presented on Science Festival (2014-2015), and took major part in organization and presentation of Chemical Weekend (2013-2015).

Worked on the Pharmaceutical Engineering, on Institute for Particle and Process Engineering, on University of Technology in Graz. Was working on two projects, of which one was concerned with organic synthesis of ligand for Suzuki reactions, and the Suzuki reactions themselves. The second work was on continuous crystallisation, crystal growth and microscopy of the probes.

The PhD in Biochemistry obtained in a research group for Bioanalytical research, Pharmaceutical Biology and Pharmacognosy, with PhD Thesis titled: "Isolation, chemical characterization and biological activity of acylphloroglucinols from petroleum ether extract of Hypericum barbatum Jacq. 1775".

MSc Thesis was awarded by CheckMark Ger van Meel Foundation. Specialized analytical biochemistry disciplines: Essential oil Analysis, Plant Phenolics Analysis, Biochemistry of lipid metabolism and Analysis, Bioactive compounds synthesis, Biomolecular computer design, Pharmacology etc.

BSc Thesis was awarded by Nenad M. Kostic Foundation. Specialized subjects were analytical chemistry disciplines: Analytical chemistry, and specific biochemistry fields: Intermediary metabolism, Physiology, Natural products chemistry etc.
