Voss Language Solutions is a Glasgow-based company that provides translation and interpreting services, specialised in the fields of sport and marketing, in German, English, French and Spanish. We also offer language training in all four languages for corporate and private requirements.

My work with Sports Translations Services includes the translation of reports, features and interviews related to official international football competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The text pieces are translated from English and French into German and published on the organisation’s official website FIFA.com.

Interpreting for the press conferences pre and post match for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League football matches.

I provide German, French and Spanish language training to the members of staff working at HP’s site. The classes range from First Steps to intermediate level and are designed for groups of 5 to 15 students.

My work for Air Berlin includes regular translation work into English and Spanish of adverts, online campaigns, newsletter and internal documents related to the company’s Premium & Loyalty Partnerships programme.

I provide freelance language services for Eq8r and their clients throughout the UK, undertaking a number of different translation projects, web optimisation and language consultancy from English into German and French.

I am teaching language classes from first steps through to intermediate German, as well as German culture studies at Bachelor level.

My work at INSP involves basically the translation of various articles from English into German and vice versa. I also, occasionally, translate from French into English. I am also responsible for editing and proofreading German articles before they are published on the organisation’s website.

My work at 7-Day Press consists of translations of different sports-related texts from French, German and Spanish to English and transcriptions in one of the four languages.

During the 2007 Handball World Cup in Germany, I worked as a translator in the press centre at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, translating press conference previews, match reports and post-match interviews into and from English.

During the FIFA Football World Cup in Germany, I worked as a volunteer interpreter at the FIFA Venue Hotel, Le Royal Meridian, in Hamburg.

The PG Cert TLHE is a flexible, modular open-learning programme with some classroom and workshop components. The content and aims of the three 20 point Masters Level Modules are Practice and Theory in Higher Education, Methods, Media & Assessment and the Context of Teaching and Learning.

I took part in an exchange programme where I followed five months of my Diplomstudium (MSc).

Core subjects: Conference interpreting, general and technical translation for French and Spanish, linguistic studies and translation tools. Thesis: Phänomen Fußballsprache (a contrastive analysis of 'football' language in France in Germany). Elective subjects: Economics and software localisation.
