• Manage the financial accounting of the legal entity including more than 30 representative/branch offices • Oversee Tax and Finance matters and manage the particularities of an export business • Ensure a smooth closing process with high quality data of the entire unit and interaction with auditors • Provide state of the art finance IT processes and systems for 80+ export countries • Leadership for Finance Head Office team and part of a matrix organization (Export markets and multiple service centers)

Besides the responsibilities of the former position below: • Promotion to Deputy Head Finance for the legal entity and support of the FRA (Finance Reporting & Accounting) department • Implementation of SAP (AiO) into 30+ representative/branch offices as business project lead • Driving continuous process enhancements and mindset increasing the efficiency and compliance • Managing the project portfolio and all interdependencies

• Responsible for complying with the SOX 302 and SOX 404 standards of the Pharma division export entity • Periodic risk assessment and implementation of corrective measures in collaboration with auditors • Ensure best in class internal controls meeting the NFCM (Novartis Financial Control Manual) standards for all business processes throughout this legal entity • Analysis and periodic reviews in more than 30+ representation/ branch offices located in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

• Responsible for the FRA function of the sub-region EEMEA consisting of four legal units • Starting May 2008, establish a new region AMAC (Asia, Middle East, Africa and CIS-countries) encompassing the old sub-region EEMEA countries plus integration of additional eight legal entities • Functional leadership for the accounting and reporting of these twelve legal entities according to the IAS/IFRS-standards • Ensuring the Fast-Close process with an international team, submitting full closing data timely

• Full responsibility for the financial accounting of the export organization in Switzerland and monthly reporting to the Novartis Pharma di-vision and Group • Leading a team in Basel of 8 people in Basel with various indirect re-ports in the representative/branch offices • Integration of additional countries (French speaking Africa) into the legal unit. Additionally, integration of existing customers from the business units Ophthalmics

• Planning and execution of internal audits within the Novartis Group worldwide • In the function as team leader development of new team members and responsible to the audit assignment • Establish action plan to remediate issues and write audit reports directed to the board of directors and the audit committee • Broad audit experience in finance, investments, procurement, production, marketing, sales & distribution • Development and realization of a cross-functional global supply chain management audit

Autonomous project responsibility in the following areas: • software development • introduction of a network including installation and configuration • communication between PC and IBM mainframe/host • planning and realization of a uninet-cabling system • providing end-user training in MS Office products

• handling of foreign exchange trades and deposit accounts • authorizing payments by electronics settlement with SWIFT and SIC
