Dr. Samet Varol

Postdoctoral fellow in Physical Chemistry Department (Prof. Seeger) in University of Zürich working on synthesis and materials properties while giving lectures to undergraduate and master students.

Working on two independent research projects: 1- Understanding the stiffening mechanism of nanocomposites under cyclic forces. 2- Understanding the effect of strain induced crystallization in conductive polymers on their light-emitting diodes applications. Guiding PhD and master students in the chemistry, biology and spectroscopy labs.

Project entitled “Mechanics of filled rubbers from a molecular point of view” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mischa Bonn Developed strong organizational / teamwork skills: 1- Presented biweekly reports and quarterly project updates to group. 2- Collaborated across an international academic-industrial project. 3- Supervised Graduate student. Built excellent communication skills: 1- Won numerous awards - both oral and poster. 2- Published 6 papers in top-level international journals.
