Project focused on the identification and application of microorganisms to remove or neutralize pollutants such as hydrocarbon and heavy metals presents on a contaminated soil. Techniques developed: Culture and isolation of microorganisms from the contaminated soil. 16S Sequencing for bacterial identification. Degradation ability test of each microorganism against different hydrocarbons.

Thesis focused on the isolation and molecular characterization of two specific bacteriophages to remove Meticilline Resistant S. aureus biofilms. Techniques used: Preparation and sterilization of culture media. Microbiological culture. Bacteriophage purification and propagation. Phage spot assay on different S. aureus strains. MIC assay. Bacterial biofilm simulation for bacteriophage treatment application. Phage DNA extraction and Multiplex PCR for phage identification.

BSc Thesis on the Cellular Brain Pathology department. The aim of the project was focused on the molecular research of the neuroinflammatory effects produced due to the alcohol intake on the adolescents Prefrontal Cortex by the activation of the innate immune system via the interaction TLR4 receptor and ethanol.
