Giulio is the AI Project Manager at Centogene (Berlin), where he leads a team of AI experts through the target discovery roadmap. Previously, he was a Senior Researcher and Competence Area Leader (QA and Dialogue Systems) at Fraunhofer IAIS, as well as Question Answering team leader at UniBonn Smart Data Analytics group. There, he led or was involved in various research projects funded by the industry or the EU. Prior, he was a senior scientist at Bonn UniKlinik and a researcher and senior IM&T Officer at the Centre for Public Health, Queen’s University Belfast. While there, he was awarded the 2014 Excellence in Innovation Award and the 2008 Innovation in Oncology Award. Interests have included AI and machine learning, semantics and graph technologies, multiomics, biostatistics, NLP. Interests span from epistemology to mathematical modelling for medicine, medical informatics and epidemiology. He studied Philosophy, Physics and Astrophysics, Bioinformatics and Applied Mathematics.
