Project: Analysis of intracellular transport and functionality of human kidney anion exchanger 1 (kAE1) in yeast and mammalian cells. Major techniques: • Bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cell culture (in small and large volumes) • cDNA construct and plasmid design • Molecular cloning • Transformation and transfection • Heterologous protein expression • DNA, RNA, and protein isolation and purification • Western blotting • Ion-exchange chromatography • Fluorescence, confocal, and electron microscopy
