In August of 2007 Alliance was in danger of being shut down, the academy was suspended by the sponsor. The academy was mired in poorly written policies, debt exceeding half a million dollars, and expensive ridiculous bailout schemes. Within one year, we completely revamped the budget, adopted a new policies and procedure manual for board members and administration, and eliminated three hundred thousand dollars in debt. Paul L. Dunbar has received national recognition for its hip-hop math program.

• Trained youth, health and social service professionals as well as community leaders on a variety of subjects related to HIV, STIs and family planning. • Trained staff in cultural sensitivity to meet requirements for PPFA affiliate, and title X certification. • Trained high-risk adults in condom use, and assertiveness skills to reduce the chance of HIV transmission. • Assisted in creation, writing and the implementation of the HIV/STD training curriculum for The Ohio Department of Health.
